Brent Music Service (BMS) helps children and young people in Brent learn music, build their skills and take part in performances.
It offers instrumental and vocal lessons, ensembles and performance opportunities for children and young people aged 3 to 19, both in schools and outside school.
What Brent Music Service offers
With Brent Music Service, you can:
- learn an instrument or singing in school - get access to instrumental and vocal lessons delivered in Brent schools.
- join an ensemble or choir - take part in evening and weekend music centres, with a range of groups and choirs for young musicians.
- hire an instrument - instruments are available to hire, with concessions for families on lower incomes (subject to eligibility).
- take part in concerts and events - perform at concerts, festivals, competitions and events in Brent and beyond, including opportunities like the Brent Young Musician competition.
- access support for children with SEND - additional opportunities are available to support children with special educational needs and disabilities to take part in music.
Music teaching for schools
Brent Music Service provides music teaching and support for schools through its Music’sCool programme.
This includes:
- learning instruments and taking part in music during the school day
- specialist instrumental and vocal teaching
- music programmes, workshops and enrichment activities
- opportunities for pupils to take part in performances and events
